PRESS RELEASE

Ottawa, ON - February 4, 2009 - Titus Labs, a leading provider of data classification software, today announced the release of Titus Labs Document Classification (TDC) 3.1. TDC 3.1 offers a unique tool for Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to apply data classification to documents and paragraphs, enabling policy enforcement throughout the document lifecycle.

At the desktop level, users add tags, structure, and data sensitivity to put data in context and enforce the proper level of protection. This version is the first commercially available solution delivering the power to classify portions within a document.

Data leaks and an increase in compliance and corporate governance requirements present administrators with the security challenge of understanding the context of data and controlling access. To enable effective and secure information sharing, documents must be properly marked and formatted. Uniform, consistent, and comprehensive data classification labels help reduce inadvertent disclosure and data spillage of sensitive information and promote cross-domain sharing. Labels applied using TDC help raise awareness to the sensitivity of the information and metadata, and if documents are being emailed, users rely on Titus Labs Message Classification (TMC) to check recipient clearance and ensure documents are sent to the right individuals both inside and outside the enterprise.

To successfully use TDC 3.1, content authors require little or no knowledge of regulatory marking standards to apply the correct markings. The solution scales easily for large military and enterprise deployments and is designed to enhance existing infrastructure solutions. TDC 3.1 is designed to enable customers to centrally manage and apply their information security policies based on context-sensitive data classification. Together with Titus Message Classification, organizations can leverage user identities in Microsoft Active Directory Rights Management Services (RMS), part of Windows Server 2008.

Titus Labs solutions allow customers to automatically apply RMS-based information access and usage policies, based on the sensitivity of information. In addition, the Titus Labs integration with Active Directory enables customers to efficiently implement data loss prevention controls tied to employee identity or group membership.

The latest version of TDC offers several new features which are designed to meet the specific needs of military customers. This version supports both Office 2003 and 2007, enabling organizations to immediately apply data classification. New features include fully configurable classification markings to help with compliance and protecting Personally Identifiable Information.

Specific guidelines, such as CUI, CAPCO, and NATO markings, are fully supported. Complex marking guidelines with caveats and descriptors are easily handled. Administrators can update the classification configuration at any time, and push it out instantly to users. TDC has also successfully tested with the US Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC).

"Ensuring the information contained in Microsoft Office documents is secured is a major concern for all organizations," said Charlie Pulfer, Vice President, Marketing and Product Management, Titus Labs. "Too often, end users don't have the knowledge or tools to handle these documents appropriately. TDC offers an easy way for organizations to enforce security policy with guided tagging so they can meet regulatory requirements and secure their most valuable asset - their data."

Pricing and Availability Titus Document Classification is currently available, with pricing starting at $29.99 US per user. The offering is available through Titus Labs and its authorized reseller partners.
