Richardson, TX, October 12, 2010 — Sipera Systems, a leader in real-time Unified Communications (UC) enablement and security, today announced that it has joined the McAfee' Security Innovation Alliance program. In this program, Sipera will work to ensure that its UC-Sec and SLIC smartphone security systems can be easily deployed into McAfee-based environments so enterprises can more quickly reap the benefits of UC applications.

Sipera’s UC-Sec appliances proactively address security risks associated with UC applications such as VoIP, instant messaging, IP video and collaboration tools, enabling government agencies and enterprise customers to adopt UC applications and apply comprehensive security. Sipera’s groundbreaking “Borderless UC” architecture enables all communications to be encrypted and compliant on any UC device, at any internal and external location.

“A key method of reducing the complexity of enterprise security systems and IT infrastructures is to increase interoperability across systems,” said Andy Asava, Vice President of Business Development at Sipera. “Our goal with the SIA program is to integrate with ePolicy Orchestrator software to help enterprises more easily meet security and privacy compliance mandates and reduce operational costs through new and improved security workflows.”

“Our enterprise customers must secure data, networks, applications, communications, and users. They require security solutions that are interoperable and easy to deploy into existing IT ecosystems,” said Ed Barry, senior director of the Security Innovation Alliance, McAfee. “Upon completion, our joint solution will provide more integrated protection including UC, and will streamline the compliance lifecycle for our mutual customers.”

The McAfee Security Innovation Alliance program helps accelerate the development of interoperable security products and simplifies the integration of these products within complex customer environments. As a McAfee Security Innovation Alliance Pavilion sponsor, Sipera will be demonstrating its enterprise UC and smartphone security systems at the McAfee FOCUS 10 user conference this week in Las Vegas.
