PRESS RELEASE

MARLBOROUGH, MA -- June 11, 2013 -- PortSys (www.portsys.com), leader in bringing secure access control to the enterprise, today announced OutSafe&trade outbound protection, a new capability for their SafeRoom&trade product. Saferoom is part of the Portsys Total Access Control (TAC) suite, providing organizations with the ability to control and secure devices browsing the internet from within the corporate network.

Similar to SafeRoom for remote connections, OutSafe acts as "proxy protection" for outbound connections by dynamically creating a secure "bubble" on the device that isolates the machine's native Operating System, file system, registry and application stack from the SafeRoom session. SafeRoom with OutSafe mimics the registry, application stack and file system and then allows users to browse out to the web. Since the SafeRoom isolates the user's environment from the OS, any malware that the user may encounter would be limited only to the memory used in the SafeRoom session. Since there is no direct connection back to the base file system, registry, etc. it doesn't impact the machine itself or the OS, and when the session is over, the SafeRoom is closed and the memory is wiped eliminating any potential malware.

SafeRoom works by dynamically delivering a secure, isolated desktop environment, within seconds, to any untrusted PC prior to authentication. SafeRoom creates a secured work environment that blocks malware and key loggers and can restrict functions such as USB access, HDD access, Print, Cut and Paste and more. OutSafe can do this as well.

"OutSafe is a new and very important capability included with SafeRoom, an already comprehensive product," said CEO of Portsys, Michael Oldham. "OutSafe provides protection for computers gaining access to internet-based resources from inside a corporate network so that the devices are protected from internet threats and malware. This helps organizations protect their resources while allowing employees to access the web and their own personal information without compromising the corporate network."

SafeRoom and OutSafe provide protection by isolating the Operating System, Registry, Application Stack and File System from access on local machines. This makes it possible for employees and guests to access their own personal information without putting the company's corporate information or devices at risk. Upon termination of the session, all traces of the session are cleared and the access machine returns to normal operation.

SafeRoom, part of PortSys Total Access Control, is revolutionizing the way organizations do business by removing security and access barriers that have held back collaboration and productivity. Total Access Control and SafeRoom with the new OutSafe feature are available now. To learn more about implementing Total Access Control contact PortSys directly.
