Marvell Launches Processors
Marvell has released the Prestera 98DX2x5 family of packet processors for the secure enterprise and metro Ethernet markets
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL), the leader in storage, communications and consumer silicon solutions, today announced the immediate availability of the Prestera 98DX2x5 family of packet processors for the secure enterprise and metro Ethernet markets. The Marvell Prestera 98DX2x5 family of packet processors enables intelligent, secure service delivery and mobility in converging networks. Marvell will display the Prestera 98DX2x5 family at booth # 939 at Interop 2006 in Las Vegas May 2 – 4.
The Prestera 98DX2x5 enables business continuity and application aware secure service delivery through Layer 2 and Layer 3 Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) by using MPLS based Virtual Private Wire Service (VPWs) and Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF) functionality, coupled with IP-over-IP, IP-over-MPLS & Ethernet-over-MPLS capabilities. Support for tunneling capabilities in the Prestera 98DX2x5 family provides the ideal platform for building next generation converged networks, accommodating mobility and connectivity across 3G, Wireless LAN (WLAN) and wired networks.
