PRESS RELEASE

SAN JOSE, Calif.--May 7, 2013 –Malwarebytes Secure Backup, released today after a successful beta-trial, is the first online backup service that automatically scans files for malware prior to backup, removing the threat of saving or sharing infected files. In addition to protecting files on their PCs, users can also securely back up files on their mobile devices through Malwarebytes Secure Backup for Android and iOS. With Malwarebytes Secure Backup, users can be confident that even if their devices are lost or damaged they still have access to clean backup and can retrieve important files.

"Most people think secure backup solutions like Carbonite or Mozy can be a cure for a compromised machine after they have trouble," said Marcin Kleczynski, founder and CEO of Malwarebytes. "The fact is, backups should be done when the machine is not infected, since restoring infected data will just re-establish the malware, and render the backup useless. The malware must be removed before backup."

Malwarebytes Secure Backup is convenient and easy-to-use. In a few simple steps it scans for all documents, photos, music and videos on your system and uploads to our state-of-the-art data center. For more control, you can customize exactly which individual files and drives you would like include or exclude from the backup. Backups may be scheduled to run automatically or at regularly scheduled intervals of your choice, with an option to receive an email report whenever a backup job ends.

Unlike most backup services, Malwarebytes Secure Backup allows users to back up as many devices and drives as they want using a single license. Through the Secure Backup Web management portal, users can access or download their files from any Web browser and share clean files with others by simply sending a URL to the cloud-hosted file.

For ultimate safe-keeping, all data is transmitted using military-grade encryption and stored within a U.S.-based SSAE 16 (SOC 1) certified data center. Users can use the UltraSafe feature to create a custom encryption key to ensure that no one else can access their data.

Malwarebytes Secure Backup supports Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, iOS and Android platforms. There are 50GB ($29.95 per year), 100GB ($59.95 per year) or 200GB ($119.95 per year) packages available.
