Lockdown Expands Scope

SEATTLE -- Lockdown Networks, the leading provider of Network Access Control (NAC) solutions that ensure all users and devices on the network comply with endpoint security policies, today announced a significant upgrade to its flagship NAC solution set. Lockdown Networks' 4.5 NAC product suite includes new features designed for large scale networks with a highly mobile user base, including employees, contractors, vendors and guests. With this release, the company updates Lockdown Commander, a standalone appliance that centralizes management of multiple Lockdown appliances to increase the scalability of Lockdown EnforcerT deployments. In addition, Lockdown Enforcer 4.5 adds a new deployment mode, allowing enforcement of NAC policy for SSL and IPSec VPN users. By supporting LAN, WLAN, WAN and client VPN modes of access, Lockdown Enforcer provides a consistent experience for users accessing the network, regardless of access method, device type or location.

Lockdown Commander 4.5 is a standalone appliance that centralizes management of multiple Lockdown Enforcer appliances. Lockdown Commander shares baseline data on devices across multiple Lockdown Enforcers so knowledge of the user and device follow them around the network, ensuring a seamless end-user experience. Lockdown Commander also provides centralized policy management, and consolidated logging and reporting of NAC data.

Lockdown Enforcer 4.5 also augments endpoint policy enforcement through the addition of inline support for SSL and IPSec VPN devices, completing Lockdown Networks' ability to enforce policy throughout the network. By using Lockdown Enforcer to enforce policy for these VPN users, IT departments are able to apply consistent policy for users, regardless of access method or location to further enhance the end-user experience.
