Enhanced intrusion detection and prevention, new admin console and embedded Sophos anti-virus are among the new features in Kerio Technologies latest iteration of its Kerio Control network security management product.Network security provider Kerio Technologies has given its flagship product, Kerio Control a fairly major expansion of capabilities and functions, including the addition of Sophos anti-virus as the a-v of choice for networks running Kerio products.
The new version, Kerio Control 7, (technical specs are here) takes a new approach to its administration console as well; according to the company, the console provides the "look and feel of a true desktop application" while enabling management of passwords, Internet access policies (based on user log-in), monitoring of bandwidth consumption and individual user Internet activity.
Deployable as either a "hardened Linux software appliance or a Certified Windows" app, the program runs on either 32-bit or 64-bit severs or workstation networks.
Licensing starts at $255, including 5 users. A downloadable free trial (registration required) is here.
