PRESS RELEASE

JumpCloud, the makers of the first Directory-as-a-Service™, announced today a new RADIUS-as-a-Service (RaaS) solution to easily and quickly control and secure WiFi access. RaaS reduces administrative overhead by providing a secure, cloud-based solution that eliminates the need to install, configure and manage RADIUS services or appliances.

WiFi networks have historically been secured with an SSID and passphrase which is widely regarded as inadequate. RADIUS enables organizations to connect their WiFi or VPN clients to their directory service. Users subsequently login using unique credentials, allowing administrators to surgically enable or revoke WiFi access as needed.

“Wireless networks are ubiquitous, but we all know that sharing a single WiFi passphrase is insecure,” said Rajat Bhargava, chairman, co-founder and CEO of JumpCloud. “JumpCloud’s turnkey RADIUS-as-a-Service integrates your WiFi infrastructure with your directory services, significantly increasing WiFi security in a matter of minutes.”

The RADIUS protocol is the most widely adopted standard to authenticate users to WiFi, VPN, and other network infrastructure and equipment. However, the server configuration and integration required is complex enough to prevent many organizations from leveraging it.

JumpCloud’s RADIUS-as-a-Service solution simplifies the entire process by providing both a hosted and managed RADIUS server and user directory. IT admins simply direct their WiFi access points to JumpCloud’s RADIUS server to gain full control over each user accessing the wireless network. In addition, JumpCloud’s service enhances security by optionally forcing mobile devices and tablets to sign-in for access.

JumpCloud’s RaaS is available immediately either directly or from channel partners. To try JumpCloud for free, visit jumpcloud.com.
