PRESS RELEASE

Boston, MA – 22 March 2011 – GlobalSign (www.globalsign.com), one of the leading providers of SSL Certificate solutions, today announced the launch of the multi-platform OneClickSSL plug-ins at the World Hosting Days 2011 (www.worldhostingdays.com), held at Europa Park in Rust, Germany from the 22 until the 25 March 2011.

The OneClickSSL system is being made available at the platform level for cPanel, Parallels Plesk, IIS and Apache (with other integrations being revealed at the WHD event) – thereby offering hosting companies the most efficient way to employ SSL security ever available. OneClickSSL rewrites the SSL paradigm by moving away from the traditional, long-winded and error prone process of SSL provisioning and replacing it with an automated “click to Activate SSL” workflow easily understood by customers of all technical abilities. With OneClickSSL, users simply activate SSL for their website by redeeming Secure Site vouchers via any of the OneClickSSL plug-ins. Redemption of the voucher means the plug-in transparently creates the cryptographic keys, the Certificate Signing Request (CSR), validates the control of the domain, installs the issued certificate and binds it to the appropriate website, all within 45 seconds.

Prior to OneClickSSL administrators required a good knowledge of cryptographic key management principles and processes to manage SSL deployments, causing costly pressures on support staff. With OneClickSSL customers have a trusted “secure website” in only seconds, reducing the support overhead for the hosting company, and leaving hosting companies to focus on their core business. The availability of plug-ins facilitates integration into existing workflows, and the avant-garde automation allows hosting companies to maximise the benefits from reselling SSL security.

“The traditional way of provisioning SSL was developed when SSL launched back in the 90s, and most Certificate Authorities force customers to use a decade old workflow”, says Steve Roylance, Business Development Director for GlobalSign and key architect behind the OneClickSSL technology. “OneClickSSL will revolutionise SSL provisioning for hosting companies and lead the way in automated and ubiquitous SSL security. Activating security on a website in minutes, and with no support overhead, will help our partners save time and money and make GlobalSign’s SSL reseller program the most advanced SSL Partner Program currently available.”

As Europe’s first CA, GlobalSign has been providing channel-ready solutions since 1996, allowing hundreds of hosting companies to expand their core business lines and benefit from significant revenue opportunities, whilst ensuring the highest levels of security within their networks. Through the GlobalSign Partner Program, security services can easily be added as a value-add to all hosting bundles, or sold separately as an individual line item. The range of GlobalSign solutions available to resell include SSL Certificates (including free Malware Monitoring), Client Certificates for securing code, encrypting email, digitally signing documents and utilizing the online authentication capabilities of browsers and VPNs, as well as large deployments of bespoke malware monitoring solutions.
