Washington DC, VA, November 23, 2011 - Becrypt and Fujitsu have worked together to develop the first comprehensively secure tablet PC, ideal for federal employees that need to work with sensitive data.

Becrypt’s DISK Protect full disk encryption software has been developed for use on the Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550, delivering peace of mind for customers handling sensitive data. The Becrypt software is FIPS 140.2 approved and has been modified for use with the Q550, allowing federal workers to deploy Fujitsu’s latest tablet with confidence knowing that they are compliant with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).

The combined solution offered by Fujitsu and Becrypt ensures sensitive data is fully protected in the event of loss or theft, with prevention of unauthorized access ensured by strong user authentication. This robust software encryption layer compliments the hardware security features integrated into the STYLISTIC Q550, including a smartcard reader, fingerprint reader and Trusted Platform Module. Running Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, Becrypt-configured STYLISTIC Q550 devices also provide IT departments with a known and trusted operating system that can be securely managed centrally.

Becrypt offers government teams a viable tablet that delivers all the productivity and efficiency gains demanded of the innovative form factor, with class-leading security protection delivered as an integral part of the solution.

Bernard Parsons, CEO of Becrypt commented, “At Becrypt we are committed to providing flexible, yet highly secure ways to protect data, enabling people to remain highly productive even when working with sensitive government or citizen data. Our long track record of working with governments around the world to provide encryption solutions to protect highly sensitive data, means that we are ideally placed to provide these solutions for new form factors, such as Fujitsu’s STYLISTIC Q550.”
