FireScope Launches Web Monitoring
FireScope announces new Web monitoring feature
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. -- FireScope, a leading developer of Business Service Management software offering a real-time view of the health and security of IT Operations, today announced a new Web Monitoring feature has been incorporated into the solution. The FireScope Web Monitoring feature will facilitate the complete simulation of the web user experience, delivering to clients an unprecedented level of visibility into the performance of business critical applications.
“Emerging technologies such as service oriented architecture, mashups and AJAX make monitoring and performance tuning web applications a much more complex task than in the past,” said Mark Ponthier, VP of Development for FireScope. “It’s no longer enough to simply test the front-end web server. What businesses need, and what FireScope delivers, is comprehensive monitoring and testing from the user’s experience as well as every underlying component.”
The new feature allows FireScope users to identify specific performance problem areas which can affect efficiency and profitability. For example, in an e-commerce operation, the Web Monitoring feature can follow specific steps like browse a website, add an item to a shopping cart, and proceed through the check-out process. The Feature will alert the user of any failed or flawed steps which affect the success of the process, while collecting performance metrics such as response time and download time for each step of the use case. In addition to such performance metrics, the Web Monitoring feature can also aggregate business metrics from the same application, reporting, for example, the number of transactions completed or revenue generated over a certain amount of time, including real-time.
“Businesses can no longer afford to see IT operations purely from the technology point of view,” said Mark Lynd, President of FireScope. “By tightly integrating the underlying technology metrics with the business metrics that result, FireScope enables IT leaders to base their strategic decisions on how it will positively impact business objectives.”
