Computhink Upgrades ViewWise

LOMBARD, Ill. -- Computhink Inc., provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for the global small and medium business markets, today announced a new release of its popular ViewWise ECM software. Central in the new release are automated retention policies, helping customers to manage their document lifecycles and meet retention laws and regulations.

An increasing number of laws and regulations compel organizations in a wide range of industries to preserve business documents for periods of time typically ranging from 2 to 7 years. ViewWise 5.7's automated retention policies enable organizations to automatically apply retention policies to different documents. For example contracts can be set to be retained for 10 years, while e-mails are kept for only 7 years. Management of the policies is done automatically on the server and completely transparent to the end-users.
