Check Point Enters Beta
Check Point announced plans to start the technical public beta testing phase of the highly-anticipated ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ:CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced plans to start the technical public beta testing phase of the highly-anticipated ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0. Recognizing that hackers today are blending different threats such as spyware, Trojans, worms and viruses into amalgamated consumer PC attacks, the new ZoneAlarm suite focuses on dramatically strengthening the core anti-malware assets.
A new antivirus engine detects and removes a wider variety of threats with hourly signature updates to ensure that users have the industry's most rapid protection against emerging attacks. More robust anti-spyware provides an additional layer of defense against blended threats. And ZoneAlarm's innovative OSFirewall - the only firewall-based proactive prevention feature in a suite today - has been updated with new malware blocking capabilities, stopping spyware, rootkits, keyloggers and more from ever infecting a user's PC. A new Auto-Learn Mode automatically configures security settings based on the user's unique PC environment and behavior, greatly reducing the number of alerts a user may experience upon installation of ZoneAlarm.
"With the increasing sophistication of hacker attacks and the rapid exploitation of new vulnerabilities, it is more important than ever to take a layered approach with PC security," said Laura Yecies, vice president and general manager of Check Point's consumer division. "Many types of attacks mimic one another in behavior or structure, blurring the lines between viruses and spyware. The ZoneAlarm suite takes a comprehensive, proactive approach to consumer protection to thwart hackers who work around more outdated solutions. We're very pleased to enter this final phase of testing in anticipation of the suite's general public availability later this year."
