PRESS RELEASE

London, UK – May 23rd, 2013: Cellcrypt (www.cellcrypt.com), a leading provider of encrypted voice calling and messaging for smartphones and tablets, today announced that CESG and Cellcrypt are jointly developing a MIKEY-SAKKE technology solution for securing mobile communications.

Multimedia Internet KEYing-Sakai-Kasahara Key Encryption (MIKEY-SAKKE) is a method of key exchange which, together with SIP and SRTP, provides a full set of standards in the public domain that can provide encryption, message authentication, integrity and replay protection for unicast and multicast applications, such as secure voice and messaging.

MIKEY-SAKKE uses Identity-based Public Key Cryptography (IDPKC) to provide and distribute cryptographic trust without needing digital certificates or the expense and complexity of supporting a Public Key Infrastructure.

CESG and Cellcrypt have entered into an agreement where Cellcrypt will develop a MIKEY-SAKKE technology demonstrator to allow a smartphone to call a landline phone (and vice versa) using the MIKEY-SAKKE key exchange mechanism, which is expected to be ready for demonstration in May 2013.

A standard-based solution based on MIKEY-SAKKE offers the promise of highly scalable, secure calling and real-time messaging for private networks, such as UK Government.

"Security solution providers need to stay nimble to address the evolving protection requirements of threat-aware customers," said David Rivington, Cellcrypt CEO. "With this latest product development, Cellcrypt is adding a cutting-edge solution to its broad product offering and meeting the market need head-on."

Cellcrypt is committed to supporting MIKEY-SAKKE, the UK Government's next generation secure voice standard. Products supporting a full MIKEY-SAKKE solution are planned for later this year.
