CatBird Launches Virtual Security
CatBird puts comprehensive virtual security in the Pocket
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. -- Catbird Security (www.catbird.com), provider of the industry’s only fully-hosted, enterprise-class, managed security platform and developer of the V-Agent virtual agent, today announced the launch of Pocket V-Agent, the comprehensive way to do virtual network security assessments and audits with a portable, pocket-sized unit. Pocket V-Agent allows security consultants, auditors and managed security providers to do virtual network security assessments by plugging Pocket V-Agent into any PC which, upon installation and booting, becomes an agent capable of network monitoring for security assessment, inspection, and data protection.
“To have this much security functionality in such a compact form factor is a ground-breaking step,” said Michael Berm, CTO of Catbird. “Now, security activities can be performed instantly from anywhere, at any time, with complete effectiveness – and real convenience.”
Pocket V-Agent offers valuable, unique features to IT security professionals on many levels. For the novice or non-security business professional, it allows for extremely easy deployment, requiring only the insertion of a USB memory stick and double-clicking on an icon to launch the V-Agent software. For security and IT administrators, Pocket V-Agent reduces time spent on security issues by providing a “snapshot” of real-time vulnerability data, illustrating how incidents resulting in downtime, lost productivity, data theft, identity theft and other security breaches can be reduced. Pocket V-Agent can also monitor physical networks, and extend additional protection to the physical LAN and systems.
