BMC Selects Klocwork
Klocwork integration with Microsoft Visual Studio enables BMC developers to analyze source code at the desktop
BURLINGTON, Mass. -- Klocwork,, the proven leader in automated source code analysis solutions for improving software security and quality, today announced that BMC Software (NYSE: BMC) is using Klocwork's K7 Enterprise Development Suite to improve the reliability and security of its BMC Action Request product line.
Using Klocwork, BMC can leverage in-phase defect containment to detect software quality earlier, thereby reducing costs and improving software security and quality. Additionally, Klocwork's easy integration with Microsoft's Visual Studio allows BMC developers to find and fix critical bugs at the desktop before they impact processes later in the software lifecycle.
"As a company, we believe our developers should have the best tools possible in order to create software with the level of reliability and security that customers have come to expect from BMC," said Samuel Dillon, lead product developer, BMC Software. "We looked at several source code analysis solutions and selected Klocwork since they offer the broadest set of analysis coverage and the ability to easily integrate with our existing development process. Their integration with Microsoft Visual Studio was a critical differentiator since it allows our developers to work in their development environment while using a best-of-breed source code analysis solution from Klocwork."
"BMC made it clear to us that their overall goal was to find a solution that would enable their developers to identify critical software security vulnerabilities and software defects early on in the development process," said Mike Laginski, Klocwork's chief executive officer. "Klocwork allows customers to mitigate these issues early in the software lifecycle, enabling in-phase defect containment. This is a tremendous validation of our unique approach to source code analysis."
