Blue Coat Appliances To Power Sprint's Managed Security Services

(Nasdaq: BCSI), the leader in WAN Application Delivery and Secure Web Gateway, today announced that Sprint Nextel has selected Blue Coat(r) ProxySG(r) and ProxyAV(tm) appliances, Blue Coat WebFilter(tm) and Blue Coat(r) ProxyClient(r) software to power the Sprint SecureSM WAN Acceleration and Sprint SecureSM Web Protection managed services. Utilizing the visibility, control and security features of the Blue Coat solutions, Sprint is delivering vital managed security services to its enterprise and government customers.

Both services make use of Blue Coat solutions on premise at a customer's site, as well as on mobile employees' laptop computers.
