PRESS RELEASE
Santa Clara, Calif. " April 13, 2009 " Avenda Systems, the innovator in identity-based network security, today announced new enhancements to its flagship eTIPS' platform that address the complexity experienced with competitors' legacy access control solutions. With this new release, Avenda sets a new standard for operational efficiency regarding the implementation of secure network access and authorization, allowing customers to easily control user and endpoint access security more than ever before.
Avenda has released a number of new customer driven ease-of-use features to its leading eTIPS management interface that address shortcomings with competitive products. eTIPS is the only policy platform that includes built-in AAA, network access control policy reporting components, and intuitive interface that reduces complexity associated with competitive multi-platform solutions. New features include pre-populated policy templates, a policy creation wizard, 3-Click Help-desk navigation, and customizable real-time reporting and analytics views.
Four new add-on components further optimize efficiency for customers by providing an extensive set of features that deliver broader endpoint health coverage, auto-configuration of .1X, expanded reporting and archiving, and granular sponsor-based guest access. With new support for MAC OS X, Avenda now supports the broadest set of platforms, ensuring all endpoints meet with enterprise compliance before connecting to the network. Customers opting for 802.1x security can rely on Avenda's new capability delivering auto-configuration of endpoints. These new components provide unsurpassed visibility, free users and IT administrators from the complexities of 802.1X, and enable comprehensive control of guest network access.
The new Avenda components announced include:
MacHealth " A unique NAP based agent allows organizations to transparently check the health of MAC OS X based devices prior to allowing them onto the network.
Quick1X " A new centrally managed endpoint configuration wizard, which minimizes user and IT helpdesk troubleshooting when rolling out 802.1X or Microsoft NAP security enhancements.
Insight " An interactive reporting and analytics module provides templates, and differentiated user access for role-specific customized views of real-time and historical archived data.
GuestConnect " This new complete guest/contractor access module includes sponsor and self provisioning, batch account creation, customizable portal templates, sponsor activity and audit views.
"As we address customer concerns surrounding network access control we're finding new opportunities to reduce complexity and enhance their overall security infrastructure," said Santhosh Cheeniyil, VP of Engineering at Avenda. "The latest Avenda offerings allow customers to deploy emerging access security controls while leveraging existing staff, and network and identity infrastructure."
In a recent customer deployment of eTIPS, Avenda's new policy service templates and building blocks were used to migrate and significantly reduce the number of existing policies, providing a 10 to 1 efficiency improvement. The combinations of building block re-use and real-time policy simulation allowed the customer to complete the migration in less than one day and also use the product to fine-tune previous enforcement rules.
