PRESS RELEASE
09.10.2009 " PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.-, Authentium released the latest version of its award-winning secure browser, SafeCentral 2.5, in anticipation of the scheduled Microsoft Windows 7 release in October. With this release, Authentium opens a 30-day public beta for all Windows 7 editions, as well as 64-bit XP and Vista operating systems. Early adopters of Windows 7 will benefit from SafeCentral's secure browsing technology that provides proactive protection and prevention of online identity theft. As with previous versions, SafeCentral 2.5 creates a secure browsing environment on the user's computer and locks out any threats that may already be in place such as spyware, keyloggers, Trojans, DNS flaws, and other exploits that put personal data at risk.
"We've released SafeCentral 2.5 ahead of the official Windows 7 release to ensure the security of online transactions and social media interactions of early adopters," says Doug Brunt, CEO of Authentium. "Our goal is to protect SafeCentral users from day one. With the increasing sophistication of cybercriminals, anti-virus software alone is not enough to protect consumers. SafeCentral 2.5 protects login information, passwords, and financial info that consumers enter into their computers, even if the computers are already infected with malicious software."
SafeCentral's secure browser ensures the integrity of online transactions — including shopping, banking, and trading — even when protection from other security tools fail. SafeCentral is fully customizable and offers banks, trading companies, software download portals and other distribution partners the ability to integrate SafeCentral as part of their branded security offerings to customers.
The SafeCentral Beta is available on the recently-announced SafeCentral Community. Windows 7 testers and users of 64-bit Vista and XP can join the SafeCentral Beta Forum in the online community to get a free one-year subscription to SafeCentral and provide feedback on the latest version.
