PRESS RELEASE

SAN FRANCISCO – June 3, 2013 – Appthority, the authority in App Risk Management, today introduced the Appthority Portal, a powerful Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution for enterprises to investigate and manage mobile device app risk. Until now, Appthority's proprietary data and analysis of over 1.2 million apps was solely available through its network of integration partners. Now, any organization may sign up directly with Appthority for instant access to the world's largest collection of analyzed apps.

Nearly 80% of the top iOS and Android apps can access corporate data, representing significant security risks and privacy issues. With the Appthority Portal, enterprises have a fully automated app risk management service that provides a fast and accurate platform to manage app risk. Organizations now have a view into Appthority's powerful automated risk analysis engines, which leverage static and dynamic analysis and run over 3,000 behavioral profiling rules on each app.

Administrators may log in to the web-based service to search through a complete inventory of the more than 1.2 million analyzed apps, or upload new apps to discover their true behavior and measure their total risk within minutes. With the increase in 3rd party code, such as libraries and SDKs, in private apps, enterprise developers may also upload their own apps to make sure that no security or privacy concerns are present.

The Appthority Portal features individualized reports for each app, detailing the app's capabilities and related security risks. Elements of these reports include risky app behaviors, privacy issues and malware analysis. The overall result is the Appthority Trust Score (ATS), a numerical value assigned to each application based on its risk analysis.

"Over the past few years, IT has seen a transformation within the mobile app ecosystem," said Anthony Bettini, CEO and co-founder at Appthority. "It's not just the tablets and smartphones that employees are bringing into the workplace, but the downloaded apps that come with them. It's exciting to bring our app analysis engines and findings to IT organizations, giving them the ability to identify the security risks behind apps to make informed decisions, build smarter BYOD policies and take action, all within minutes."

Appthority introduced App Risk Management to help enterprises protect corporate privacy and mitigate app risks. The company employs static and dynamic analysis to discover the true behavior and measure the total risk of apps within minutes. Appthority is the only service that assesses multiple mobile operating systems, is cloud-based and platform-agnostic. With the Portal, Appthority is bringing trust back to the app ecosystem.

Appthority's fully automated App Risk Management service is also available through its network of integration partners to complement existing enterprise mobility solutions like Mobile App Management (MAM) and Mobile Device Management (MDM).

Appthority will be attending MobileIron's third annual global user conference "M3: Best Practices for Mobile IT" on June 3 – 5, 2013 in San Francisco, CA. Appthority will also be attending the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit on June 10 – 13, 2013 in National Harbor, MD. To set up a meeting, please contact [email protected].
