PRESS RELEASE

CHICAGO, IL. — Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society 2015 – April 13, 2015 — Silect Software Inc., a leading provider of management solutions for Microsoft System Center 2012, today announced that it has partnered with the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) and Microsoft to deliver a new real-time compliance monitoring solution that is fully integrated with Microsoft System Center 2012. The HITRUST Real-Time Compliance (RTC) Pack enables organizations to benefit from real-time, operational awareness to help enhance security and compliance.

Leveraging System Center capabilities will allow IT Operations to see their compliance status at any point in time, enabling them to maintain and improve their risk posture and cyber security readiness. The HITRUST RTC Pack reporting capabilities will integrate with the HITRUST MyCSF, as well as with other GRC tools. The initial release of the HITRUST RTC pack focuses on HIPAA security with plans to expand the solution to include additional regulations and standards that map into the HITRUST CSF, the most widely adopted control framework in healthcare.

“We believe that the ‘always on‘ monitoring and reporting capabilities of this solution will help organizations proactively manage potential HIPAA compliance risks before they become business issues with the confidence that they are leveraging and demonstrating compliance with the HITRUST CSF,” said Scott Pettigrew, Chief Security Officer, HMS.

“Microsoft realizes that a simplified, proactive approach to regulatory compliance can bring tremendous value to our healthcare customers. We also understand that our customers have requested that we leverage the knowledge of HITRUST to inform how we build effective and tailored healthcare compliance solutions. To deliver on this ask, we are combining the management capabilities of Silect and the advanced operational capabilities of System Center, with the expert knowledge and content of the HITRUST CSF to bring to market a solution that simplifies the complex issue of healthcare regulatory compliance. We believe that this new combined solution can make this easier, less costly, and provides an efficiently managed and proactive process,” said Michael D. Robinson, Vice President, Microsoft US Health & Life Sciences.

“Healthcare organizations are seeking more streamlined and effective methods to ensure ongoing compliance with the HITRUST CSF in order demonstrate their information risk posture, regulatory compliance and cyber security readiness,” said Michael Frederick , Vice President, Assurance Services and Product Development, HITRUST. “We are pleased to have partnered with Microsoft and Silect to deliver a real-time compliance monitoring solution to the industry leveraging Microsoft System Center.”

A preview release of the HITRUST RTC Pack will be available soon from Silect Software. Users can register at http://www.silect.com/solutions/hipaacompliance. Silect and HITRUST will be previewing the new solution in Microsoft’s booth #1202 at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in Chicago through April 15th.

About CSF
The HITRUST CSF is the most comprehensive and widely adopted information security and privacy framework for the healthcare industry. The CSF is used by hospitals, health plans and other healthcare organizations as a certifiable, scalable and efficient approach to regulatory compliance and risk management. Developed in collaboration with healthcare and information security professionals, the HITRUST CSF rationalizes healthcare-relevant regulations and standards into a single overarching security framework. Because the HITRUST CSF is both risk- and compliance-based, organizations can tailor the security control baselines based on a variety of factors including organization type, size, systems, and regulatory requirements. Now in its seventh major release, HITRUST continues to innovate and enhance the CSF ensuring it meets the ongoing needs of the healthcare industry.

About HITRUST
Founded in 2007, the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) was born out of the belief that information protection should be a core pillar of, rather than an obstacle to, the broad adoption of health information systems and exchanges. HITRUST - in collaboration with public and private healthcare technology, privacy and information security leaders - has championed programs instrumental in safeguarding health information systems and exchanges while ensuring consumer confidence in their use.

HITRUST programs include the establishment of a common risk and compliance management framework (CSF); an assessment and assurance methodology; educational and career development; advocacy and awareness; and a federally recognized cyber Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (ISAO) and supporting initiatives. Over 84 percent of hospitals and health plans, as well as many other healthcare organizations and business associates, use the CSF, making it the most widely adopted security framework in the industry.
