PRESS RELEASE
LOS ALTOS, Calif. — Jul. 12, 2018 — Netskope, the leader in cloud security, today announced that it has acquired Sift Security, a pioneer in next-generation cloud infrastructure security. The acquisition will bring Cloud Hunter, Sift’s award-winning Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) breach detection, correlation, visualization, and response engine into the award-winning and market-leading Netskope Security Cloud. Sift Security CEO Neil King will also join Netskope to lead product strategy and management for Netskope for IaaS which includes Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and other services found in use in today’s enterprises.
Since its founding, Netskope has focused on addressing the massive shift underway throughout the corporate network, as critical data now mostly resides in SaaS and IaaS services outside the enterprise perimeter. This shift is exacerbated by a workforce that is increasingly mobile and enterprises attracted to the cost savings and agility associated with cloud services. In response to this transformation, enterprises are revamping network architectures and moving away from the legacy model of routing all traffic through a corporate data center, upending a security stack never designed to accommodate this shift in the first place.
The integration of Cloud Hunter into the “one cloud” architecture of the Netskope Security Cloud addresses this shift by providing customers with the most comprehensive and differentiated security cloud in the market, all delivered from a single cloud and in a single interface. Customers will continue to benefit from advanced DLP, threat protection, configuration, and posture management powered by patented technology trusted by a quarter of the Fortune 100 and leading financial, insurance, healthcare, pharmaceutical, retail, energy, and technology enterprise organizations.
“Neil and the team at Sift have built an award-winning, best-of-breed solution for enterprises struggling to keep up with security and compliance requirements as they move workloads to the public cloud, and I welcome them all to Netskope to continue the next chapter with us,” said Sanjay Beri, founder and CEO, Netskope. “The market is demanding a new approach to today’s challenging security problems, and the integration of Cloud Hunter into our ‘one cloud’ architecture will accelerate our journey toward making Netskope the next great independent, iconic security company.”
The Netskope Security Cloud is the only solution in the market that provides full visibility and control, best-of-breed DLP, and award-winning malware, ransomware, and threat protection for SaaS, IaaS, and the web from one cloud architecture. Within the IaaS component, Netskope already leverages a multitude of data sources to deliver customers award-winning advanced DLP, threat protection, continuous configuration and posture management, and now IaaS threat correlation and visualization.
“Four years ago we set out to build a security solution that could detect, correlate, visualize and automatically respond to threats in infrastructure-as-a-service environments like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform,” said King. “We’re excited to combine those capabilities into the market-leading Netskope Security Cloud. Sanjay and team have an unmatched vision for the future of the security market, and we could not be happier to partner with Netskope as part of Sift’s next chapter.”
The acquisition closed in June, and terms are undisclosed.
