PHILADELPHIA -- WorldExtend, the remote access and network security specialist, today announced that its SecureIDAT free managed VPN and secure remote access service has received a strong endorsement from DABCC President and server-based computing expert, Douglas Brown. Brown praised SecureIDA for its simplicity, security, and ability to

provide businesses and IT professionals with cost-effective Citrix-style functionality. Brown commented that, "SecureIDA is not just another traditional 'Go to my PC' solution, but one that gives me, as the administrator of my network, the ability to publish applications and desktops and then assign users to those newly-created resources, as you do in a Citrix world, but without the need for expensive dedicated hardware and

software."

"I'm a huge fan of a simple solution to complex problems and WorldExtend's SecureIDA is just that," noted Douglas Brown, President & Chief Technology Officer, DABCC, Inc. "Simply put, SecureIDA is not just another Citrix alternative but due to its architecture it is a very cost-effective solution

that allows you to quickly and easily gain access to the resources you need,

no matter where they reside," Brown continued. "I recommend you give it a shot."

Brown's review at www.dabcc.com/secureida, explains that he, his staff, and contractors needed a simple and secure way to connect to all applications, servers, and files across DABCC's entire working environment (including a remote web server hosted by a different company). As Brown only needed access to a few applications and desktops it was too expensive to install a Citrix environment which necessitates purchasing software as well as additional hardware and server maintenance. And, as Microsoft's Remote Desktop capabilities (RDP) meant opening the RPD port on the firewall he felt it could possibly harm network security by opening a potential point of

entry for any hacker.

WorldExtend's new SecureIDA managed service proved the ideal solution. Brown explained that installation was simple thanks to an extremely-simple wizard which installs an agent on a single Windows device within the network. Then, a user simply points their Microsoft Internet Explorer browser to a unique address and logs in to access the configured applications and desktops that are delivered via a clean, easy to understand

portal with icons. Brown was so impressed that he now utilizes SecureIDA at

DABCC, and highly recommends the technology to others.

"I'm a huge fan of a simple solution to complex problems and WorldExtend's SecureIDA is just that," said Brown. "The first two connections are free, so visit http://www.secureida.com today and try it for yourself," Brown continued. "I think you will find it as easy and powerful as I did."
