PRESS RELEASE

WALTHAM, Mass. ' Q1 Labs, a global provider of security information and event management (SIEM) products, today announced the availability of a free, downloadable, log management and compliance product that provides organizations with visibility across their networks, data centers, and infrastructures.

With the company's new QRadar SLIM Free Edition (SLIM FE), IT professionals can collect, analyze, report, and store network, host, server, application, and security event logs, via syslog, from any source, including a wide variety of routers, switches, and security devices. QRadar SLIM FE's advanced analytics quickly turn confusing events into useful results that meet specific regulatory requirements.

The feature-rich and easy-to-use QRadar SLIM FE offers many of the same capabilities found in Q1 Labs' appliance-based, QRadar Simple Log and Information Management (SLIM) solution. QRadar SLIM FE is intended for businesses, departments, or networks with less than 50 events per second coming from their log sources.

"Many organizations will be able to benefit from QRadar SLIM FE " particularly in these challenging economic times," said Shaun McConnon, CEO, at Q1 Labs. "QRadar SLIM FE is a fully functional log management solution that competes directly with other pure-play log management offerings, yet uniquely provides users with a seamless path to full SIEM. Ultimately, log management solutions that do not offer a seamless means to full-blown SIEM capabilities leave customers in a dead end."

"Over the last few years, we have seen a rapid change in the attention paid to the enterprise security market as data breaches have impacted some of the largest and most well-known organizations. As a result, log management has become a requirement for best practices and compliance mandates, including PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley, and FISMA," said Chris Christiansen, program vice president of security products and services at research firm IDC. "Q1 Labs is helping to address this need by making this important functionality available to more potential users " and at no cost."

QRadar SLIM FE is available now at no charge and can be downloaded from www.q1labs.com/qradar-slim-fe.

New Log Management User Community Forum

Along with QRadar SLIM FE, Q1 Labs today also unveiled its Log Management User Community, a dedicated site (http://slim.q1labs.com/) for users of QRadar SLIM FE to collaborate and obtain technical and product information, to exchange ideas regarding log management and security-related issues via an online forum, and to have access to the tools necessary for security developers to implement device support modules (DSMs).
