Dell Closes SecureWorks Acquisition

ROUND ROCK, Texas – Feb. 8, 2011– Today, Dell announced it has closed its acquisition of SecureWorks' Inc., a globally recognized provider of information security services. The acquisition expands Dell’s IT-as-a-Service offerings and gives the company industry-leading capabilities.

SecureWorks processes more than 13 billion security events and sees more than 30,000 malware specimens each day. The company protects more than 3,000 customers worldwide, including over 1,500 banks and credit unions as managed security services clients. SecureWorks is protecting trillions of dollars in financial assets. In a report published on Nov. 29, 2010, Gartner, Inc. positioned SecureWorks in the Leaders quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for MSSPs (Managed Security Services Providers), North America.” In addition, Gartner recently evaluated the pending Dell acquisition of SecureWorks.
