PRESS RELEASE

ROUND ROCK, Texas – Feb. 8, 2011– Today, Dell announced it has closed its acquisition of SecureWorks' Inc., a globally recognized provider of information security services. The acquisition expands Dell’s IT-as-a-Service offerings and gives the company industry-leading capabilities.

SecureWorks processes more than 13 billion security events and sees more than 30,000 malware specimens each day. The company protects more than 3,000 customers worldwide, including over 1,500 banks and credit unions as managed security services clients. SecureWorks is protecting trillions of dollars in financial assets. Its reliability, capability and focus on client service have earned the company a best-in-class customer satisfaction rating from its global client base, and SecureWorks has been recognized by SC Magazine's readers with the "Best Managed Security Service" award four years in row (2006 – 2009).

In a report published on Nov. 29, 2010, Gartner, Inc. positioned SecureWorks in the Leaders quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for MSSPs (Managed Security Services Providers), North America.” In addition, Gartner recently evaluated the pending Dell acquisition of SecureWorks.

An analysis by independent research firm, Forrester Research, Inc. in the January 6, 2011 blog by Khalid Kark entitled, “Dell To Acquire SecureWorks” said the acquisition will benefit Dell customers by allowing them to obtain security services from a trusted partner, while SecureWorks clients will have access to the financial scale and resources of a Fortune-50 player.

“We have been a customer of SecureWorks for over five years, and in that time we have more than doubled the amount of service offerings we receive from SecureWorks. We view SecureWorks as a trusted partner in the managed information security services sector. Immediately following the Dell announcement, SecureWorks met with our team to assure our organization that it was ‘business as usual,’ and we are comfortable knowing we will continue to receive the outstanding service and support we are accustomed to. The Dell acquisition of SecureWorks fits within our hybrid security strategy which includes Security-as-a-Service, and we feel the resources SecureWorks will have as a part of Dell will only help to enhance the current services provided to us.”
