SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Sanmina-SCI Corporation (NASDAQ:SANM), a leading global electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company, today announced a low-cost, market-ready 2-Gigabit and 4-Gigabit VPN/Firewall appliance.

The 2-Gigabit and 4-Gigabit VPN/Firewall appliance meets the growing demand for small and large enterprise organizations to secure their Gigabit networks at a fraction of the current market prices. The 2-Gigabit and 4-Gigabit VPN/Firewall solution is now available to OEMs to either brand or incorporate into their own systems and programs.

"Sanmina-SCI's security solution helps OEMs hit the Gigabit security window of opportunity without the typical development risks and costs," said Naresh Nigam, Senior Vice President of New Technologies and Ventures at Sanmina-SCI. "This solution uses entirely new silicon and provides an immediate means to implement LAN-speed security at a fraction of the cost of other Gigabit security products. OEMs are now able to sell more security products in more places in their customers' networks."

"Sanmina-SCI has developed a security product that will solve key problems faced by network and security managers around the globe," said Jeff Wilson, Principal Analyst VPNs and Security at Infonetics Research. "Leveraging their substantial design and manufacturing capabilities, Sanmina-SCI has developed a revolutionary security appliance offering a true Gigabit VPN/Firewall appliance at an unheard of price."
