SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Fortinet® – a pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions – today announced it has exceeded 300,000 cumulative shipments of its market-leading security appliances, growing shipments approximately 50 percent in 2007. Delivered via its flagship family of FortiGate™ appliances, Fortinet provides a flexible platform that enables enterprises and service providers of all sizes to consolidate critical security technology and services to maximize network protection and reduce total cost of ownership. The company complements these solutions with an array of messaging, management and analysis systems.

Strong customer demand has fueled Fortinet unit shipments and continued position as the UTM market leader worldwide, according to IDC data. To support this growth, as well as future sales and technology innovation opportunities, the company has built a workforce that now surpasses 1,000 employees spread across the globe, with 57 percent in the Americas region, 28 percent in APAC, and 15 percent in EMEA.

“Our cumulative growth in shipments and market share position are strong indicators that customers around the world are increasingly turning to Fortinet to solve their varied network security and business challenges,” said Ken Xie, founder, president and CEO of Fortinet. “Our customers point to Fortinet’s flexible and integrated security platform, reduced management complexity and lower total cost of ownership as among the reasons for their selection of our solutions.”
