The investment will be used to fund additional technology acquisitions and other strategic initiatives related to the company's industry-leading network security technology.

The announcement comes one week after NetWitness released its 2009 financial results, which included a doubling of revenue over the prior year, its sixth straight quarter of profitability, and explosive growth across all corporate performance measures.
