New release includes performance improvements as well as new features suggested by the product’s user community

ORLANDO, FLA., June 20, 2011 – Panda Security, The Cloud Security Company, today announced the launch of Panda Cloud Antivirus 1.5. The release includes performance improvements as well as new features suggested by the product’s user community. Since its initial release in 2009, millions of users around the world have benefitted from award winning free antivirus protection and minimal resource consumption that Panda Cloud Antivirus provides via its Collective Intelligence technology.

“The charter of Panda Cloud Antivirus is to provide maximum PC protection with minimal impact on PC performance,” said Pedro Bustamante, senior research advisor, Panda Security. “Thanks to the useful feedback of our active user community, we have improved this product yet again and will continue to listen to our users to maintain Panda Cloud Antivirus’ reputation as the most advanced free antivirus solution available.”

Panda Cloud Antivirus 1.5 is available for free, with a Pro version that offers 24x7 multilingual technical support, behavioral analysis and automatic USB vaccination for $29.00. Existing users will be automatically upgraded to Version 1.5, and new users can download the software at www.cloudantivirus.com

New features to both the free and Pro Version 1.5 include: • Scanning speeds have been improved dramatically. • CPU consumption has been reduced thanks to improvements in the BackgroundScan. • New advanced configuration options for exclusions of files based on file extensions, potentially unwanted programs and more. • New activity monitor shows information such as scanned file details and previous viruses detected.

Collective Intelligence, Panda’s proprietary cloud-scanning technology that automatically collects and processes millions of malware samples, lies at the core of Panda Cloud Antivirus. In recent comparative tests conducted by both AV-Test.org and AV-Comparatives.org, Panda Security’s detection and protection scores rank consistently amongst the top security solutions.
