DDI Announces Discovery Of IBM Websphere Application Server Vulnerability

Security issue was revealed using NIRV

San Antonio, TX – November 3, 2011 – Digital Defense, Inc. (DDI), a leading provider of Information Security solutions, announces the organization’s discovery of a vulnerability within the IBM WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console. DDI promptly notified IBM and an alert, including a patch to remediate the issue, was released by IBM. This security issue was revealed using NIRV (Network Interrogator Reconnaissance Vehicle), DDI’s proprietary vulnerability scanning technology.

This discovery follows the recent identification of a vulnerability in the Axway Secure Transport device by DDI’s Vulnerability Research Team (VRT). The highly-trained team of certified researchers employs rigorous test methodologies and industry best practices to detect vulnerabilities in software platforms utilized by DDI’s client base. With information security breaches on the rise and new vulnerabilities developing every day, the DDI VRT proactively investigates and detects potential security threats so they can be thwarted. In addition to the VRT team, DDI staff includes a dedicated team of certified security analysts who are regularly engaged for thought leadership at security industry conferences and events.
