With Cisco's $2.35 billion acquisition of Duo Security, the networking company is looking to help enterprises provide secure user access, even for users on public networks with personal devices.
Duo provides identity verification and audits the health of devices before granting access to applications, on traditional enterprise networks and public networks as well, Cisco said announcing the deal Thursday morning.

The acquisition is part of Cisco's increased emphasis on security, which is a small but fast-growing part of the vendor's overall business.
