VA Goes for Encryption

GuardianEdge announced that the US Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded a contract to Systems Made Simple and Merlin International

SAN FRANCISCO -- GuardianEdge Technologies Inc., a leading provider of government and enterprise data protection software, today announced that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has awarded a contract to service disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB) integrator Systems Made Simple, Inc. and government technology services integrator Merlin International based on their implementation of GuardianEdge and Trust Digital encryption solutions.

In a highly competitive selection process, the combination of the GuardianEdge Encryption Anywhere Data Protection Platform for encryption of hard disks and removable storage devices with Trust Digital Mobile Edge Device Security for PDAs and smartphones was chosen for encryption of approximately 300,000 VA personal computers and mobile devices.

"The award of this significant contract further validates GuardianEdge's growth and leadership position in providing scalable, easy-to-use data protection solutions for the government," said Alan Fudge, president and CEO of GuardianEdge Technologies. "The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' decision to encrypt their information using the Encryption Anywhere Platform demonstrates VA's strong commitment to securing their critical data with the most effective and full-featured encryption for their computer hard drives, removable storage and portable devices, such as PDAs and smartphones."
