"Protecting company data just with encryption on the endpoints is certainly not sufficient. SafeGuard Enterprise already offers the broadest data protection suite for enterprises. Today, we add with SafeGuard PortProtector and Auditor the most efficient data leakage product to our security suite," explained Malte Pollmann, Executive Vice President Products, Utimaco. "By partnering with Safend we are able to offer enterprises new capabilities based on the solid foundation of Utimaco security technology."

Utimaco customers can look forward to continued development of products focused on data leakage protection, including integration of DLP capabilities with the company's flagship SafeGuard Enterprise suite. The company is planning further expansion into data leakage protection with a new content monitoring and filtering product.

According to analyst firm IDC, more than 70 percent of confidential data resides at the endpoint. Additionally, while increased mobility and connectivity can improve productivity, it often leaves endpoints wide open to data leakage, enterprise penetration and the introduction of malware.
