PALO ALTO, Calif. -- PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise data security and encryption solutions, today announced that SysOpen Digia, a software developer based in Helsinki, Finland, has chosen the PGP(R) Encryption Platform as its company-wide encryption solution.

SysOpen Digia specializes in information and communication technology (ICT), mobile phone solutions, and other telecommunications products and services. The company will use PGP(R) Desktop and PGP Universal(TM) to secure email communications with trusted business partners and among its 1100 employees worldwide.

According to Jere Seppala, CIO of SysOpen Digia, protecting corporate emails and securing local files were linchpins of the company's security policy and the primary reasons for selecting the PGP Encryption Platform. The company's prior experience with PGP products as well as the possibility of consolidating different encryption products into one complete solution also made the selection easier. "PGP technology is widely recognized as the de facto standard for encryption," he said. "It integrated exceptionally well into our other corporate computing systems, and we can easily add other PGP applications as our needs grow and change."

With the first PGP application they deploy, organizations like SysOpen Digia begin to realize the benefits of the PGP Encryption Platform. Additional PGP solutions leverage this common platform, providing lower operational cost and faster implementation compared to point solutions.

Securing both email communications and local files prevents the compromise of sensitive information while protecting SysOpen Digia's brand and reputation. "Customer-related information, financial and technical information, internal information about the company-all of these must be secured," Seppala added.
