His solution? Security Scoreboard, a collection of more than 600 vendors categorized by specialties extending from anti-virus to wireless, with a pleasantly thorough number of categories in-between.
The scoreboard will evidently be community driven. Users will be able to post their own reviews -- no word on how constantly the comments will be moderated, but Boaz's comment that:
gives hope (depending on how his resources allow him to define time-to-time.)
In-depth moderation seems unlikely, as he explains:"there is no reliable way to verify that online reviews correspond to actual customers."
Security Scoreboard will also offer vendors the opportunity to up their exposure by purchasing premium space for deeper and more detailed descriptions of their firm and its services. Gelbord states that such pages will be clearly identified.
This one looks at first glance like a worthwhile stop for anyone scanning for security vendors, or just interested in getting a look at what's out there.
