AUSTIN, Texas -- SailPoint Technologies today announced the first standards-based integration linking its identity risk management solution with Novell’s identity and security solutions. Based on the Service Provisioning Markup Language (SPML v2.0), the integration between SailPoint Compliance IQ™ and Novell™ Identity Manager establishes a seamless connection between business-oriented governance, risk management and compliance and the automated provisioning and centralized management of identity information required by IT Operations. Additional integration between Compliance IQ and Sentinel™ by Novell combines powerful identity risk analytics with real-time security event management. The integrated solution allows enterprises to automate and streamline compliance processes and significantly reduce business risk.

Developed jointly by SailPoint and Novell, the integrated solution enables companies to translate key business policy and risk management concepts into IT policy and automated workflow, and to measure compliance effectiveness in easy-to-understand business terms. By leveraging industry standards, the solution eliminates the need to build and maintain custom integration and speeds time-to-deployment, providing four key points of integration:

  • Auto Remediation – provides automated workflow to remediate inappropriate access and policy violations via immediate, real-time execution of provisioning or de-provisioning requests.

  • Provisioning Policy Checks – incorporates compliance and risk management into the provisioning process by analyzing new user requests and role changes against defined policy.

  • Business Role Provisioning – enables organizations to provision user access to data, applications and systems based on business roles.

  • Identity-Aware Event Monitoring – collects and filters user, network and application events and correlates this information to build a complete identity risk profile.

“Incorporating business policy and risk concepts into identity management has become a critical focus for customers seeking to reduce risk and meet compliance objectives,” said Nick Nikols, vice president of product management for Identity & Security at Novell. “We’re excited to work with SailPoint in providing a standards-based solution that helps our joint customers better achieve their risk management and compliance goals.”

AUSTIN, Texas -- SailPoint Technologies and Control Solutions International today announced a free online identity compliance assessment utility that helps organizations measure their ability to comply with security and privacy mandates and to manage the risk associated with user access to critical enterprise systems and data. The assessment generates a personalized identity compliance score and ROI analysis based on user responses to questions about an organization’s compliance environment. Companies who desire a more comprehensive assessment can request an in-depth analysis from SailPoint and Control Solutions

Developed jointly by SailPoint and Control Solutions, the Identity Compliance Assessment tool is based on best practices for reducing and mitigating identity risk in IT environments. It focuses on four key areas – Access Certifications, Separation-of-Duty (SOD) Policy Enforcement, Privileged User Monitoring, and Identity Risk Management. Through interpretation of the questionnaire results, the tool provides an assessment of an organization’s identity compliance maturity and estimates the potential benefits and cost savings of automating and centralizing compliance efforts.

“We've taken the experience we've gained in developing identity compliance solutions and are using this expertise to help organizations assess their current identity compliance practices," said Mark McClain, CEO and founder of SailPoint. "By using our tool, companies can immediately gauge how their performance stacks up against industry benchmarks and take steps to address gaps and inefficiencies. Initial customer response to the tool has been very positive."
