PRESS RELEASE

WHAT:

RSA, The Security Division of EMC, is announcing that version 8.5 of the RSA' Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Suite has 40 new features to help better address PCI requirements outlined in version 2.0 of the Data Security Standard. RSA is also making RSA DLP more affordable and simpler to deploy and manage for customers.

These new features enable:

PCI Readiness: The newest version of PCI DSS defines the scope of assessment for PCI to include all location and flows of cardholder data. RSA DLP is well regarded in the industry for being engineered fortopmost accuracy in identifying the location and flow of sensitive data including credit card numbers whether the data is in databases, file repositories, SharePoint sites, laptops, or in transit as email or web traffic.

RSA DLP 8.5 can help customers become more efficient in completing PCI audits on time and within budget. More than a dozen PCI security features such as multi-factor authentication for DLP users and auditing for user actions within DLP applications are added to the solution.

Simpler and more affordable deployments and management: Customers can now take advantage of the virtual appliances from RSA DLP to deploy DLP in the network to prevent unauthorized transmissions of credit card data via email and web traffic. Compared to physical appliances, these virtual appliances help reduce hardware maintenance and management costs by up to 75%.

RSA is also offering many tools to help customers better develop and manage DLP projects. Success of a DLP project depends on people, process and technology and the new tools from RSA help customers to better align these three elements.

Another new feature, RSAs Asset Risk Heat Map, helps in simplifying audits. It is designed to allow customers to easily export information about sensitive data, discovered in various data repositories, to SIEM and GRC solutions such as RSA enVision' platform and the RSA Archer' eGRC Platform. This adds content- aware classification capabilities to customers current security management infrastructure.

WHEN:

RSA DLP 8.5 will be generally available worldwide in Q42010.

WHY:

"PCI affects any organization that collects credit card data, and while progress has been made with respect to cardholder data security, customers have made it clear that demonstrating and maintaining PCI compliance remains a broad and complex challenge," said Dan Schiappa, senior vice president, Products, RSA, The Security Division of EMC. "As the premier provider of security solutions, RSA continues to enhance and advance its products, like the RSA DLP Suite, to help organizations prepare for and deliver on challenges like PCI compliance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The RSA Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Suite is engineered to enable organizations to discover and classify their sensitive data, educate end users and ensure data is handled appropriately, all based on policy objectives. Its integration with the RSA enVision platform and the RSA Archer eGRC Platform also help form the backbone of most organizations' corporate security operations. DLP plays a critical role in this closed-loop system that discovers data, classifies it, and maps to organizations' overall security policies.
