The SAS 70 is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as part of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. The SAS 70 certifies that a service company has had their control objectives and processes examined by an independent accounting and auditing firm. To complete the SAS 70 Type 1 audit, the PSP, Inc. management team developed objectives for internal controls that support the standards of monitoring and security of operations and customers' information.
PSP, Inc. is currently one of the largest hosting companies for Japanese corporate domains. Completing the SAS 70 Type 1 audit and having the controls and processes in place ensures a safeguard for the services the company offers to customers both in the U.S. and Japanese markets.
"We are proud of our successful completion of the SAS 70 Type 1 Audit," says Ken Uchikura, President of PSP, Inc. "We are committed to providing quality services to our customers and requested this audit to make sure that the objectives for the controls and processes we developed at PSP, Inc. follows specific standards. We are extremely pleased with our achievement."
PSP, Inc. will continue to review the processes and controls put in place, and plans for ongoing SAS 70 auditing to improve its practices.
