The companies also announced that Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) has deployed the joint SaaS security services. TCSG deployed the Proofpoint ENTERPRISE SaaS email security solution to protect more than 10,000 inboxes. Proofpoint ENTERPRISE delivers the industry's most effective spam, virus and email policy enforcement features, combined with the cost savings and ease-of-administration benefits of Software-as-a-Service. TCSG deployed the Purewire Mobile for BlackBerry in October 2008 to fill a gap left by its legacy on-premise URL filter. After several months using the Purewire service, TCSG selected the Purewire Web Security Service to protect its 44,000 users browsing the Web on campuses, and via laptops and BlackBerry devices. By implementing these SaaS security solutions, TCSG is able to protect against email and Web-based malware, spam, spyware, phishing attacks, botnets and other messaging and Web-based threats for each of the 33 state technical colleges, adult literacy programs and other economic and workforce development programs.
