Stamford, CT, June 25, 2009 - Protegrity Corporation, a leading provider of Data Security Management Solutions, today announced that Paul Giardina, 41, has been named Chief Executive Officer. Giardina brings more than two decades of enterprise solution experience, deep knowledge of Protegrity's core businesses and management expertise to his new role in the company.

Raul Ortega, previously Protegrity's VP Product Management, will fill Giardina's Research and Development position. The new executive appointments are effective immediately.

"Paul has been groomed to take over as CEO since we both joined the company five years ago," said Gordon Rapkin. "He has been central to the strong success of Protegrity's award-winning Defiance Data Protection suite and our vision of offering true enterprise-class, centralized data security management solutions. After working closely with him over the years, I know that Paul possesses the right combination of industry expertise and management experience to build on Protegrity's achievements and create even greater value for our global community of customers."

Giardina brings more than two decades of marketing, partnership/product development and executive expertise in the enterprise software industry to his CEO position. Prior to joining Protegrity Giardina was Executive VP at Cartesis, where he established the company's global marketing function and developed key strategic partnerships, he also held senior positions in product management and services at Hyperion Solutions. Giardina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Villanova University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.

Among his other responsibilities, Giardina will focus on ensuring that Protegrity further capitalizes on its leadership position in enterprise data security, developing strategic partnerships, positioning the company for sustained growth, and leveraging the knowledge gained from his relationships with Protegrity's customers to ensure the company continues to deliver the solutions that enterprises need to protect their data and their brand.

Protegrity's focus on providing enterprise data security management solutions across technology platforms and recognition of the importance of providing comprehensive protection against internal and external attacks against critical corporate data without impacting day-to-day operations have been key to the company's success, even in these challenging economic times.
