Data Locker Secure Drive now comes in 1 TB and 750 GB capacities

London, 13th October 2009 - Origin Storage, a leading manufacturer and distributor of IT storage solutions, has today announced the launch of their 1TB and 750GB Data Locker. The new capacities will be in addition to the 320GB and 500GB which are already available. The Data Locker Secure Drive gives users peace of mind in the event that that their data storage device is lost or stolen. The data is secured by AES hardware encryption and a 6-18 digit PIN number which is entered directly on the device itself. The Data Locker will be demonstrated on stand 560 at Storage Expo from 14th " 15th October 2009 at Kensington Olympia, London.

According to KPMG's Data loss Barometer, 11% of data losses are due to the theft of portable devices and 14% from the theft/loss of hard copies. With data loss stories frequently appearing in headlines, the need to secure data has become essential in order to avoid being the next victim of an incident. Data Locker only allows the portable drive to mount an operating system when the correct PIN has been entered on the LCD keypad. You can also use the LCD screen to change the Data Locker PIN, dismount the drive, toggle the keytone on or off, or wipe the drive clean.
