New Version Of BitArmor DataControl Employs Smart Tag Technology

PITTSBURGH - BitArmor(tm), the leader in data control software that helps corporate executives protect and manage sensitive data throughout their organizations, today announced the latest release of BitArmor DataControl, an information-centric security solution that directly protects the data rather than the devices or network used to access it. The new version facilitates safe file collaboration and the secure transport and access of data files stored on USB drives, via email attachment, or downloaded from FTP sites. Files can now be security transported and accessed on non-work or unprotected systems without the need to install a DataControl control agent.

An optional password can be assigned and the Smart Tag protected data emailed to a business partner to enable secure, two-way collaboration. A new lightweight application, BitArmor Control Sentry, permits users to supply the right password to access the protected document.
