SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Mu Security, a pioneer in the new security analyzer market, today announced the inclusion of critical-grade, Published Vulnerability Analysis (PVA) attack capabilities for the Mu-4000 Security Analyzer. With this new capability, Mu Security is extending its security analysis platform to ensure that enterprise, service provider and product development customers can now locate, document and expedite the remediation of vulnerabilities for nearly 1,000 known attacks.

Published vulnerability analysis enhances the automation, remediation, regression testing and reporting framework of the security analyzer by adding key published attacks to the security analyzer, so that customers can eliminate such vulnerabilities prior to exploit and better defend their network against malicious exploits. The security analyzer transmits attacks corresponding to these vulnerabilities, so users can verify that devices purporting to be patched are actually immune to these attacks.

Mu Security’s newly added Published Vulnerabilities, including Telus/Assurent® Vulnerability Research, broadens system and application security by enabling continuous audits against these vulnerabilities. The new PVA capability adds a new dimension to the Mu-4000 Security Analyzerby detecting known vulnerabilities corresponding to published attacks. This augments the security analyzer’s ability to search for unknown vulnerabilities by subjecting the target system under analysis to literally millions of permutations and combinations of hacker and customer- generated external attacks.
