SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Extending its leadership in helping organizations prevent the loss of confidential data, McAfee, Inc. (NYSE: MFE) released McAfee® Data Loss Prevention Host 2.0 in early September. The new version includes comprehensive device management and integration with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator® (ePO(TM)). It is a key component of the industry's most comprehensive solution for preventing both accidental and malicious data loss.

High profile data breaches continue to make headlines, impacting corporate reputations and bottom lines. According to Privacy Clearinghouse, more than 166 million American records (personal data) have been compromised. McAfee Data Loss Prevention offers complete visibility and control by monitoring and preventing confidential data loss everywhere -- at work, at home, and on the road. It stops information loss across networks, through applications, and via removable storage devices, even when data is disguised. McAfee is the first to safely enable the use of valuable employee productivity tools such as USB thumb drives by offering granular control over which devices are allowed to be used, while enforcing control over what data can be copied onto them.

Easy management through McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator enables event monitoring and incident details to prove internal and regulatory compliance measures to auditors, board members, and other stakeholders.

"Enterprises face dire consequences because they are losing confidential data without even knowing it,” said Vimal Solanki, senior director of marketing for McAfee. "McAfee DLP protects enterprises from the risks of financial loss, brand damage, competitive disadvantage, lost customers and non-compliance.”
