PRESS RELEASE

Sacramento, CA, May 9, 2011, In an effort to assist businesses and organizations to better prepare against PDF attacks, HBGary is announcing the release of a new FREE tool, AcroScrub, which scans the enterprise for old and vulnerable versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader. The free download is available from the HBGary website. AcroScrub provides enterprise network administrators a quick and easy way to discover which users and end-node computers in their organization are potentially susceptible to a PDF-based spearphishing attack. AcroScrub scans without using agents, and utilizes built-in Windows networking to scan for old and vulnerable installations of Adobe Acrobat Reader. The download is simple to run - an administrator defines which versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader are allowed by policy, and the command line-based tool outputs a list of computers which have non-conforming versions installed.
