FireHost Now Lets Customers View And Control How They Use Their Secure Hosting Servers

FireHost's customer portal gives visibility into critical server metrics

(Dallas, Texas - Sept. 14, 2010) - FireHost, the leading secure, managed hosting provider, now gives customers complete visibility and control over their FireHost Secure Servers. The enhancement advances FireHost's goal of total transparency as the FireHost customer portal continues to put customers in the driver's seat for their hosting environment.

Clients can now access key server metrics in real time so they never have to question how much storage space is being used, how much memory is being used, and if they have enough processor power provisioned to meet their hosting requirements. In addition, FireHost has provided the ability to reboot and shutdown/startup their servers as needed. This is critical to customers as it gives the power to restart a server if it's non-responsive for any reason.

"We broke from the managed hosting tradition when we posted pricing on our website. In the spirit of total transparency, we're now letting clients see their hosting resources. Even more importantly, we're giving them the power to control their Secure Server on the fly," said Chris Drake, CEO and founder of FireHost. "We believe customers should see their actual usage over time and reboot when they want, so they can make decisions to scale up or scale back their hosting as needed."

Joshua Strebel, CEO and founder of Page.ly goes on to say, "We've had to scale up very quickly and unexpectedly several times since our launch. It's a relief to have such great visibility over our hosting environment, and performing basic functions without contacting a support engineer can really save me time in a pinch. Our IT department analyzes this usage just as routinely as the marketing team reviews website stats. Now, we can budget much more efficiently and on a larger scale."

FireHost's customer portal is available to all customers and the new visibility and control features are available for those who have been provisioned on their VMware Virtualized Secure Servers. FireHost believes that companies of all sizes require security, transparency and superior website performance to be considered a viable business online. Through virtualization, FireHost is able to offer this luxury to more businesses as an attractive, affordable alternative to traditional dedicated hosting. The company is now one of the fastest growing secure managed Web hosts, and has built a reputation for offering premium hosting to Ecommerce, SaaS, healthcare IT, and security companies.
