SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Guidance Software Inc. (NASDAQ:GUID), the World Leader in Digital Investigations™, today announced version 7 of its EnCase' Enterprise remote computer forensic technology, designed for the ever growing governance, risk and compliance-related computer investigation needs of the commercial enterprise and government organizations.

With integrated smartphone support, revamped user experience and powerful template-driven processing, this is the most powerful and easiest to use version of EnCase Enterprise yet. The software made its public debut at the RSA Conference in Guidance Software’s booth #136.

“EnCase Enterprise has long had a dominant market position with Fortune 100 firms, but recently we’ve seen a boom in demand – new EnCase Enterprise customers tripled in 2011 – which tells us that the addressable market for remote forensics is growing beyond just the world’s top companies,” said Victor Limongelli, President and CEO of Guidance Software. “EnCase Enterprise version 7 is aimed at simplifying enterprise investigations through automation and enhanced functionality, allowing the examiner to complete remote forensics in a timely and effective manner.”

Key features of version 7

Comprehensive device support – in addition to the robust file system support that EnCase Enterprise is known for, version 7 delivers integrated support for Apple, Blackberry, Android, Windows Mobile and other smartphone and tablet devices. Expanded encryption support - The software provides additional support for file- and disk-based encryption, as well as all new integrated Passware support to quickly identify files locked by passwords and to decrypt TrueCrypt files. Enhanced user experience – The EnCase Enterprise user interface has been redesigned to have the same simplicity as using a web browser, with ability to quickly zoom-in on data of interest in an all new system and volatile data viewer. New email and email conversation review is done in their native format. Fast, powerful performance – New caching capabilities make opening and browsing case data faster and more efficient than before. A new “find related items” capability allows examiners to quickly triage a device for relevant items, and the template-driven processing and report generation allows examiners to automate repetitive tasks and facilitate consistent, organizationally approved best practices. Support for Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) products: EnCase Enterprise supports compliance concerns by allowing activity to be stored in Windows event log files to trigger auditing function in SEIM tools. The software provides comprehensive logging of operations and allows Active Directory integration for user authentication.

“A wide array of new features and enhancements is included in this version of the product, a direct result of listening to our customers and incorporating their input into the software,” said Shawn McCreight, Guidance Software chairman and chief technology officer. “The surge in new EnCase Enterprise customers has given us great feedback on how the software is used and I am confident that this is the best version of EnCase Enterprise to date.”

EnCase Enterprise version 7 is available now at a promotional price for new customers starting at $9,995.
