Crossbeam has named Charles Young as vice president of worldwide customer service

CONCORD, Mass. -- Crossbeam Systems(R), Inc., the leader in unified threat management (UTM) for the world's largest networks, today announced that it has named Charles Young as vice president of worldwide customer service. Young will be responsible for expanding Crossbeam's worldwide customer service organization and setting the strategic direction to support the company's growing list of leading ISV partners.

"Charlie's proven track record in building world-class customer service and support operations for global companies is a perfect complement to the needs of Crossbeam's global 2,000 customers," said Peter George, president and CEO of Crossbeam Systems. "He is a valuable addition to our executive management team and will be pivotal in helping us maintain the high level of satisfaction our customers have come to expect, while enabling us to meet the growing demand for our UTM solutions among enterprise customers and service providers worldwide."

Young brings to Crossbeam more than 20 years of experience in senior executive positions providing strategic counsel, implementation and support of customer service organizations within the IT industry. Before joining Crossbeam, Young served as the regional solutions director at Dell Corporation, a high growth strategic business aimed at providing a combination of enterprise-class services and server/storage products to support the needs of larger customers. In this position, Young was responsible for managing eight countries and more than 100 people to develop a multi-million dollar business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Young also served two years as president and four years as the worldwide sales and marketing director for Nexpress USA, a distributor of Sun and HP authorized refurbished server products in the U.S. Prior to that, he held a number of senior management roles at Compaq/Digital Equipment Corporation, most recently as the worldwide strategic services director, overseeing the company's mission-critical services business to drive worldwide growth of its customer service division.

"Crossbeam presents the opportunity to work with the leader in UTM, redefining the network security space with a new kind of virtualized security architecture," said Young. "I'm excited to be a part of this team helping Crossbeam expand services and support for its ISV partners and a rapidly growing customer base."
