PRESS RELEASE

Chelmsford, Mass —May 4, 2009 -- Biscom, the most trusted name in electronic document transmission and secure file transfer solutions, today announced the integration of Biscom Delivery Server with Microsoft's SharePoint products and technologies, including Office SharePoint Server 2007 and the forthcoming SharePoint Server 2010.

"Although popular collaborative system technologies provide some means of visibility, extending these systems to geographically dispersed or external knowledge workers means relying on native email," said L. Frank Kenney, Research Director at Gartner. "One key differentiation that is becoming evident is the ability of MFT suites to elegantly 'plug into' and support systems that are used for collaboration, regardless of the sophistication and formality of the tools."

Biscom's new product, BDS for SharePoint, is designed to help organizations protect their sensitive files and documents without inhibiting collaboration or disrupting established user behaviors, business processes or workflows. Much like its existing secure file transfer solution, BDS for SharePoint will integrate directly with the SharePoint user interface and menuing system to give users the option to Send Files Securely. BDS for SharePoint will place the files in a secure package, deliver a notification message to the recipients per policies set by administrators and compliance officers, and facilitate electronic delivery of the files after the recipients have been authenticated. The complete process is tracked and audited for regulatory compliance and reporting purposes.

"HIPAA, and the need to keep our patient data secure, while continuing to foster and promote the collaborative nature of our network presented a real security challenge for us," said Mark Haas, Manager, Health Information Services, Massachusetts General Hospital. "Biscom's Secure Managed File Transfer solution provides us the perfect balance of protection and ease-of-use. The planned integration with Microsoft SharePoint products and technologies is further proof of their thought-leadership and the pulse they keep on the market " it's something we've come to appreciate and expect."

BDS for Microsoft SharePoint BETA Program Biscom's BDS for Microsoft SharePoint Beta Program is specifically designed to provide Microsoft SharePoint customers, ISVs, and resellers, an opportunity to integrated secure file transfer in the context of their existing SharePoint implementations. Organizations interested in participating in the BDS for Microsoft SharePoint Beta program should contact [email protected] or 978-367-3612. Biscom's BDS for Microsoft SharePoint will be generally available in the fall of 2009.

"Microsoft SharePoint is undoubtedly one of the most popular enterprise content management platforms among enterprises today, and it's growing exponentially " a phenomenon that our customers and partners reinforce," said Bill Ho, vice president of internet products at Biscom. "But, despite its popularity, managing external user access, successfully organizing governance, and enforcing security policies remains a difficult and costly challenge. BDS for SharePoint provides a cost-effective integrated secure managed file transfer solution that folds into existing SharePoint-oriented collaboration workflows " making users more productive while giving CISOs and compliance officers some peace of mind."
