EMERYVILLE, Calif. -- BigFix® Inc., a global leader in real-time IT security and management solutions for the distributed enterprise, has released an updated version of its data leak prevention (DLP) product, which incorporates performance improvements and functional upgrades since the product’s initial rollout earlier this year. BigFix DLP addresses “inside out” threats to enterprise integrity and reputation with real-time data leak monitoring, detection, and pre-emption on enterprise servers, desktops, and mobile devices.

BigFix DLP builds on the real-time visibility and control capabilities of the BigFix Platform and its massively scalable, single-agent, policy enforcement architecture. BigFix DLP enforces anti-data leak policies on computers, regardless of their location or current connection status. DLP policies can include routines that identify and block transfer of sensitive data, such as files that carry credit card or social security numbers. It also allows network administrators to log and block data encryption and data transfer through a variety of exit points including USB thumb keys, corporate email, Webmail, and instant messaging programs.

“Organizations are facing increasing pressure from mobile devices that leave the network perimeter carrying sensitive information, many times in violation of corporate policy,” said BigFix CTO Amrit Williams. “BigFix DLP is designed to easily manage and enforce IT Policy on fixed and mobile assets, wherever they are located, and independent of network connectivity. BigFix DLP provides highly accurate and continuous data leak prevention on any desktop, server or mobile device, anytime, anywhere.”
